Ryan Shazier and Malcolm Jenkins - two highly respected Ohio State alumni - have been named honorary coaches for the Buckeyes' upcoming spring game, the team announced.

"I’m thrilled and I can’t wait to see these two heroes back in Ohio Stadium," Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer said in a release. "The respect and admiration I have for each of these young men is off the charts, and I am so proud for our program and for the Ohio State fans that these players want to come back and be a part of our spring game."

Shazier was a starting linebacker on Ohio State's 2012 undefeated team and a first-team All-American in 2013. He's continuing to rehabilitate a spinal injury he suffered Dec. 4.

Jenkins became the first player in Ohio State history to win a Super Bowl with two different teams after helping the Philadelphia Eagles claim the title earlier this year.

Spring practice at Ohio State begins this week, and the spring game will take place April 14 at Ohio Stadium.
