Five-star guard Elliot Cadeau will graduate early and enroll at North Carolina next week as a member of the Tar Heels' 2023 recruiting class, he told ESPN's Jonathan Givony on Tuesday.

Cadeau is the No. 10 prospect in the 2024 ESPN 100 rankings.

"I think I'm ready," Cadeau said. "I think that I can play in college in a couple of months. There's no reason to stay in high school, because I can hang with college players right now."

He helped lead Link Academy in Missouri to a national championship and topped the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League in assists with 9.3 per game.

The move will give him the option to enter the NBA draft next year.

"My goal was always to be one and done. Reclassing doesn't change that," Cadeau said. "It's definitely my end goal - to be in the draft as soon as possible - but this takes pressure off me to be one and done and gives me the option of staying two years if needed."

Last season, North Carolina became the first school to top the preseason AP Poll to not reach the NCAA Tournament. The Tar Heels recorded a 20-13 campaign, including an 11-9 record in conference play.

Cadeau will join guard Simeon Wilcher and power forward Zayden High at Chapel Hill, two players in the 2023 ESPN 100 recruiting class.
