Class of 2022 five-star power forward Jarace Walker is committing to Houston, he told ESPN's Paul Biancardi on Thursday, per ESPN's Jeff Borzello.

Walker is the No. 19-ranked recruit on the ESPN 100. He was also the second-highest-ranked prospect in next year's class who'd yet to commit.

Walker cited Cougars head coach Kelvin Sampson as a factor in his pledge to Houston.

"It will be great to pick his brain each day about the game," Walker told Biancardi about Sampson. "His NBA experience is impressive. He is a legend in the college game.

"He is such a good defensive coach, and he showed me how they get their shooters open for shots."

Coming out of IMG Academy in Florida, Walker received offers from several interested schools, including Alabama, Florida, LSU, Michigan, and North Carolina, among others, according to ESPN.

Walker joins shooting guard Emanuel Sharp and small forward Terrance Arceneaux as the third top-100 recruit to commit to Houston's 2022 class.
