Five-star 2021 recruit Jaden Hardy will sign with the G League Ignite, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Hardy had offers from Kentucky, UCLA, and Arizona, among other schools, Charania adds.

The 18-year-old is ESPN's No. 2-ranked prospect behind center Chet Holmgren, who committed to Gonzaga in April.

Hardy was named a 2021 McDonald's All-American despite Nevada canceling the high school basketball season. He earned the state's Gatorade Player of the Year honors in 2020 after registering 30.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 8.4 assists as a junior for Coronado High School.

Hardy is the second five-star prospect to opt for the G League's professional pathway program in recent weeks. Michael Foster, the class of 2021's seventh-ranked recruit, signed with the Ignite in late April. Top Chinese prospect Fanbo Zeng, a four-star forward, will also reportedly play for the Ignite after decommitting from Gonzaga last month.

Several top prospects chose to sign with the Ignite in their inaugural 2020-21 season, including Jalen Green, Jonathan Kuminga, Daishen Nix, and Isaiah Todd. Rising Filipino star Kai Sotto also signed with the team but didn't play in a game.
