Kansas head coach Bill Self announced Wednesday that he's suspended forward Silvio De Sousa indefinitely pending the result of a review of Tuesday's brawl between the Jayhawks and Kansas State, according to the Kansas City Star's Gary Bedore.

"I have suspended Silvio De Sousa indefinitely pending the final outcome of the review by KU and the Big 12 Conference," Self said. "As I said last night, we are disappointed in his actions and there is no place in the game for that behavior."

The fracas unfolded in the waning seconds of Kansas' 81-60 win. De Sousa entered into a shoving match with the Wildcats' DaJuan Gordon, which spilled into a baseline seating section. At one point in the melee, De Sousa picked up a chair and appeared ready to use it as a weapon before it was pulled away.

De Sousa was ruled ineligible to play last season due to his connection with the Adidas corruption scandal. In 18 games this season - mostly off the bench - the Angola native is averaging 2.6 points and 2.8 rebounds.
