Arizona's Sean Miller delivers emotional speech at final home game
It's been a trying year for Arizona head coach Sean Miller.
In February 2018, he was reportedly linked with Christian Dawkins - one of the key figures involved in the FBI's investigation into college basketball corruption - for discussing a $100,000 payment for then-star freshman Deandre Ayton.
After Saturday's regular-season finale loss to Arizona State, Miller thanked the home crowd in an emotional speech.
"The fan bases that we're often compared to, the giants of the college basketball game - Kentucky in Rupp Arena, Phog Allen Fieldhouse with Kansas, you can fill in the blanks of the other places - but there's no place that's more magical," Miller said, according to ESPN.
"There's no fans in the world that are more loyal. And it has been an amazing honor to coach in McKale Center for the last 10 years. Thank you for everything."
The 50-year-old declined to comment on his future postgame.
Miller holds a 264-88 record in 10 seasons with the Wildcats, including three Elite Eight appearances and three Pac-12 tournament championships. Arizona is currently 8-10 in conference play and 17-14 overall. Barring a Pac-12 crown, the Wildcats will miss the NCAA tournament for the first time since the 2011-12 season.
