The top-ranked Duke Blue Devils (14-2) have created buzz around college basketball thanks to the strong play of Zion Williamson and their star-studded freshman class.

But the Michigan Wolverines are right below them, and first-year forward Ignas Brazdeikis believes his team is just as worthy of attention.

"I would love to play Duke, I feel like along with a bunch of (my) teammates, because they got that No. 1 team and that No. 1 hype and we feel like we’re definitely better than them," said Brazdeikis on 97.1 FM The Ticket.

The Wolverines are off to a program-best start at 17-0, and Brazdeikis' strong play has earned the Canadian a spot on the Wooden Award midseason watch list, annually awarded to the nation's best player.

Brazdeikis says he's unfazed by any challenge and would relish the opportunity to match up against a player of Williamson's caliber.

"I would love to guard Zion," Brazdeikis said. "I’m not scared about no competition. I’ll guard anyone."

Brazdeikis is averaging a team-high 15.6 points on 48.7 percent shooting through 17 games.
