Scotty Pippen Jr., the son of former Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen, announced he is committing to Vanderbilt next season.

"I'm headed to Vanderbilt," he said, according to 247Sports' Evan Daniels. "I picked them because I have a good relationship with the coaches. I like the school a lot.

"I think it's a great fit for me academically and athletically. I feel like they needed me at the point guard position."

Pippen Jr. is rated as a three-star point guard with a small 6-foot, 160-pound build. He's 276th on the 247Sports composite ranking.

Vanderbilt is currently struggling at point guard after losing five-star recruit Darius Garland for the season due to a meniscus injury. The 6-foot-2 sharpshooter is expected to declare for the 2019 NBA Draft, potentially leaving an opening for Pippen Jr. next season.
