Former NBA player and UCLA standout Tyler Honeycutt was found dead Saturday morning, a family member confirmed to KABC.

Honeycutt was 27.

Honeycutt allegedly fired a gun at police and barricaded himself inside a Los Angeles home on Friday, according to ABC7.com.

Honeycutt reportedly barricaded the home after police received a call from his mother, who claimed he was acting unusual. It was then that Honeycutt allegedly fired at officers, causing them to return fire. No officers were reportedly hurt during the shootout.

According to the LAPD Honeycutt appeared "to have sustained injures consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot wound."

Honeycutt was drafted 35th overall by the Sacramento Kings in 2011, playing limited minutes with the franchise over two seasons. He played in Russia for Khimki Moscow this past season.
