It appears Purdue center Isaac Haas' return from an elbow injury will not come to fruition.

Haas attempted to practice Thursday with his new brace, but the team told CBS' Allie LaForce he is not expected to play in their Sweet 16 matchup Friday against Texas Tech.

Earlier in the day, head coach Matt Painter said Haas would need to fully participate in practice without limitations in order to be cleared.

"(Haas will not play) until he can practice and show me he can shoot a right-handed free-throw and get a rebound with two hands," Painter said. "In the last two days, he hasn't practiced. So I don't see it."

Haas suffered the injury in the Boilermakers' first-round matchup versus Cal State Fullerton.
