Grizzlies complete league-best 29-point comeback, beat Spurs in OT

The Memphis Grizzlies wanted their share of madness in March.

Memphis shocked the San Antonio Spurs on Friday, rallying from down 29 points and eventually winning 126-120 in overtime.

It was the league's largest comeback victory this season, surpassing the Brooklyn Nets' 28-point comeback to beat the Boston Celtics on March 3.

Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks tied the game in regulation with a 3-pointer with 1.8 seconds remaining.

The Grizzlies outscored San Antonio 17-11 in the overtime period to win it.

Point guard Tyus Jones led the way for Memphis with a 20-point triple-double, while Jaren Jackson Jr. added a game-high 28 points. Jones has started the Grizzlies' last seven games while star Ja Morant is suspended.

At one point in the third quarter, the Spurs led 84-55. The Grizzlies closed the frame on a 26-9 run, cutting the lead to 12 heading into the fourth. They held San Antonio to a mere 16 fourth-quarter points to force overtime.

Memphis is looking to keep pace with the Sacramento Kings in the race for the Western Conference's No. 2 seed. Following Friday's game, both teams are 42-27 with 13 contests remaining in the regular season.

The Grizzlies return home to face the Golden State Warriors next on Saturday, while the Spurs host the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday.
