Magic's Isaac undergoes season-ending hip surgery
The Orlando Magic announced Friday that forward Jonathan Isaac has undergone season-ending surgery to repair a torn left adductor muscle.
Isaac felt discomfort following the team's practice Tuesday, and an MRI the following day revealed the injury.
"Our thoughts are with Jonathan, whose fortitude in dealing with adversity is unique," said Magic president of basketball operations Jeff Weltman in a statement. "Jonathan has worked extremely hard to return to the court this season and has demonstrated his impact on our team. We will be by his side as he focuses on the work ahead."
Isaac missed the previous two campaigns due to an ACL injury suffered in August 2020. The 2017 No. 6 pick showed flashes of his previous form during his brief return, averaging five points, four boards, and 1.3 steals across 11 appearances this season.
Isaac has two seasons left on a four-year, $69.6-million contract. However, his salary for 2023-24 is only partially guaranteed.
