Brooklyn Nets guard Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers have settled on the grievance the former filed after the organization incorrectly withheld a portion of his salary while he was holding out last season, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The sides have reportedly agreed to confidentiality regarding the financial amount of the settlement, Wojnarowski added.

The former No. 1 pick refused to suit up for the 76ers to begin the season, citing mental health as his reason for holding out. He continued in his stance until the club dealt him to the Nets at the trade deadline for a package centered around James Harden.

However, the 76ers maintained that he broke his contract by failing to report to the team, withholding nearly $20 million of his deal.

Simmons endured setbacks in his rehab while in Brooklyn, resulting in him missing the entire 2021-22 campaign split between the two clubs. Barring any further injury, Brooklyn expects the former All-Defensive player to take the court in 2022-23 for the first time since the 2021 postseason.
