Potential 1st-rounder Cissoko joins G League Ignite
French wing Sidy Cissoko will play for the G League Ignite in his final year before NBA draft eligibility, he told ESPN's Jonathan Givony on Tuesday.
The 18-year-old, 6-foot-7 prospect had been playing in the Spanish second division prior to his move stateside.
"We explored several options with my agents and I was convinced G League Ignite was the best opportunity to achieve my goals," Cissoko said.
"The ability of this program to maximize the potential of its players on and off the court convinced me. Even more, the tailor-made development program and opportunity to start my transition to the U.S. game style, 3-point line and off-court life is a key asset."
Cissoko will play alongside fellow potential 2023 first-round picks Scoot Henderson and Leonard Miller.
The G League Ignite have seen two players selected within the top 30 in each of the two NBA drafts following its inception in 2020.
