Report: 76ers acquire Melton from Grizzlies for Green, No. 23 pick
The Philadelphia 76ers acquired guard De'Anthony Melton from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for veteran Danny Green and the No. 23 overall selection in Thursday's draft, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Melton provides the 76ers with some much-needed outside shooting. He averaged 10.1 points and shot 38.8% from deep over the past two campaigns. The 24-year-old has two years remaining on his contract.
Meanwhile, Green is off to his fifth different team in the last six seasons. While the veteran sharpshooter averaged just 5.9 points during the 2021-22 campaign, he made 38% of his 3-point attempts.
Green is out indefinitely after sustaining a torn ACL and LCL in the 76ers' season-ending loss to the Miami Heat.
Roddy's strong junior year helped the Rams reach their first NCAA Tournament since 2013. The 21-year-old registered 19.2 points, 7.5 boards, 2.9 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.1 swats per contest en route to winning Mountain West Player of the Year honors.
