The Detroit Pistons acquired Bol Bol from the Denver Nuggets in exchange for guard Rodney McGruder and a 2022 second-round pick, the Nuggets announced Monday.

Denver acquired the 7-foot-2 forward's draft rights after Bol was taken 44th overall by the Miami Heat in 2019. He was projected to be a lottery pick but fell to the second round due to concerns about his health.

The former McDonald's All-American played in just nine games for Oregon before sustaining a season-ending foot injury. Bol registered 21 points, 9.6 boards, and 2.7 blocks per contest during his brief collegiate career.

Bol played sparingly over three seasons with the Nuggets, averaging 2.7 points in 6.2 minutes over 53 appearances.

McGruder spent the past two campaigns in Detroit. The sixth-year player out of Kansas State owns career averages of 5.6 points and 2.9 boards.

Both players are on expiring contracts. The Nuggets are $2.4 million below the luxury tax after the move, per ESPN's Bobby Marks.

Denver also inked guard Davon Reed to a two-way contract and waived center Petr Cornelie, Nuggets president of basketball operations Tim Connelly announced Sunday.

Reed, a former second-round pick, has averaged 4.4 points, three boards, and 1.2 steals since joining the club on a hardship deal last December.
