Denver Nuggets star point guard Jamal Murray was assisted off the court and into the locker room after suffering an apparent knee injury against the Golden State Warriors on Monday.

Murray was driving to the basket late in the fourth quarter when his left leg appeared to give out after he planted it.

Murray immediately fell to the court and looked to be in considerable pain, clutching his left knee. He was quickly attended to by Nuggets head coach Michael Malone, who gestured for the medical staff. A wheelchair was brought to help take him to the locker room. However, the 24-year-old chose not to use it.

Denver is working to secure an MRI to determine the severity of Murray's injury, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Canadian was playing in his first game after missing Denver's last four with right knee soreness.

"He just came back, he was gone for four days. His (right) knee had been bothering him ... just an awful feeling," Malone said postgame, according to ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk. "Keep Jamal in your thoughts and prayers and hopefully we will get some good news."

Murray was averaging 21.3 points, 4.8 assists, and four rebounds entering Monday's contest. He recorded 17 points, four assists, four rebounds, three steals, and a block in 33 minutes against the Warriors.
