Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry surpassed Wilt Chamberlain to become the franchise's all-time leading scorer.

Curry's milestone bucket came against the Denver Nuggets on Monday on a layup toward the end of the first quarter. He scored 21 points in the frame, marking the 29th time Curry has registered 20 or more points in one quarter, courtesy ESPN's Nick Friedell.

He finished the game with 53 points on 10-of-18 shooting from beyond the arc to go with seven rebounds and four assists.

Prior to Monday's contest, Curry was just 19 points away from overtaking Chamberlain on the Warriors' career scoring leaderboard.

3. Rick Barry 16447
4. Paul Arizin 16266

7. Jeff Mullins 12547

Curry is the only player among the Warriors' top five all-time scorers not to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. However, the 33-year-old is all but certain to add that honor following his retirement.

The seven-time All-Star, two-time MVP, and three-time champion also leads Golden State all time in 3-pointers and assists. He's currently in his 12th season with the Warriors.

Chamberlain played just five-and-a-half years with the franchise, dating back to its time as the Philadelphia Warriors. However, he averaged 41.5 points during that span. That includes a 50.4 points per game average in 1961-62, which still stands as the highest scoring rate ever over an entire season.
