Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant will remain an All-Star captain despite being sidelined for this season's exhibition matchup due to a hamstring injury, according to ESPN's Malika Andrews.

Durant and LeBron James earned the honor as the top vote-getters for their respective conferences. On Thursday, both players will draft a roster out of the All-Star pool on NBA on TNT.

It's unknown if Durant will travel to Atlanta for the All-Star festivities.

Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum will take Durant's place in the starting lineup, with Indiana Pacers big man Domantas Sabonis being his chosen replacement on the Eastern Conference's All-Star roster.

Durant has missed 10 of the past 11 contests and will be out through at least the All-Star break. The two-time Finals MVP hasn't missed a beat in his return from an Achilles injury, averaging 29 points, 7.3 boards, and 5.3 assists over 19 appearances this season.
