Draymond advocates for LeBron's MVP case
One of LeBron James' greatest rivals voiced their support for The King's MVP case after the Los Angeles Lakers star was named a finalist for the award.
"I'm going with LeBron," Green said of his MVP choice during an appearance on TNT's "NBA Tip-Off" Saturday. "I think the year LeBron has had and resurrecting that Lakers franchise, I think that has to stand for something."
James helped guide the Lakers to the Western Conference's top record in his second season with the franchise. He's averaging a career-high 10.3 assists per game along with 25.3 points and eight rebounds, showing no signs of slowing down at 35 years old.
Green and James have a lengthy history of battling one another on the highest stage. Green's Golden State Warriors faced off against James' former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, in four consecutive NBA Finals from 2015-18.
Reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks and Houston Rockets star James Harden round out this season's MVP finalists. Individual award winners will be announced during the NBA playoffs.
