The Larry O'Brien Trophy will be traveling in style this season.

The NBA announced Wednesday that it's signed a multi-year partnership with French luxury brand Louis Vuitton that includes the creation of the first travel case for the championship trophy.

The monogrammed case took 100 hours to complete at Louis Vuitton's workshop near Paris, according to USA TODAY Sports' Jeff Zillgitt. It features a white V for victory on the outside and is lined with blue microfiber.

"It is a unique first partnership for us and the first partnership of this kind for Louis Vuitton with a North American sports league," NBA deputy commissioner Mark Tatum said. "They have a history over the last decade or so of doing this kind of trophy case for some of the other big global sports like the FIFA World Cup trophy, the Roland Garros and Davis Cup trophies, the Rugby World Cup, but this is the first time they are partnering with a North American sports league to do this."

The announcement comes ahead of the NBA's first regular-season game in Paris on Jan. 24, which will see the Milwaukee Bucks take on the Charlotte Hornets at AccorHotels Arena. Tatum said he expects fans from across Europe to be in attendance.
