Report: Kings decline 3rd-year option on Giles
The Sacramento Kings declined the third-year rookie-scale option on forward Harry Giles' contract, sources told NBC's James Ham.
Sacramento confirmed it picked up the options on De'Aaron Fox and Marvin Bagley III.
The Kings also reportedly declined their option on third-year forward Caleb Swanigan.
Giles has had a star-crossed NBA career since being acquired by Sacramento on draft night in 2017. He's been limited to just 58 professional games - all coming last season - due to injuries to both knees. He has yet to play in 2019-20 as a result of left knee soreness.
The decision to not pick up the $3.9-million option doesn't mean the Kings are giving up on the former top-three prep recruit, as they "will continue to support his development," a source told Ham.
