Report: Jazz, Snyder agree to long-term extension
The Utah Jazz have agreed to a long-term extension with head coach Quin Snyder, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The extension will keep the 52-year-old in Utah for multiple years following his current deal, which was set to expire after the 2020-21 season, sources told Wojnarowski.
A finalist for NBA Coach of the Year in 2017-18, Snyder has led the Jazz to a 227-183 record in six seasons at the helm and constructed one of the NBA's top defenses around Rudy Gobert; Utah's defense ranked second in the league last season and has finished in the top five in each of the last three years.
Prior to taking over in Utah, Snyder served as head coach of the Austin Toros in the G League, which was then known as the NBA D-League. He took home D-League Coach of the Year honors in 2009 after leading the Toros to a 32-win season and an appearance in the league semifinals.
