Fans wasted no time picking up tickets for the preseason tilt in India between the Sacramento Kings and Indiana Pacers.

The NBA's vice president of global business operations, Diane Gotua, said 90 percent of tickets to the league's first-ever game in India sold out in close to two hours - faster than anticipated, according to Shashank Nair of the Mumbai Mirror.

India will host two games on Oct. 4 and Oct. 5 at the NSCI Dome in Mumbai, the hometown of Kings majority owner Vivek Ranadive.

"You'll feel like you're actually in an arena in Houston or New York - bringing that authentic NBA experience to Mumbai is key. But at the same time, we also want to add local flavor," Gotua said. "We want our players and league staff to say, 'Wow that was an amazing global game.' There shouldn't be a difference between a game played in Mumbai and in a North American city."
