The Washington Wizards will decline Jabari Parker's $20-million team option, making the forward an unrestricted free agent this summer, sources told Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes.

Both sides reportedly remain interested in coming to terms on a new deal.

Washington acquired Parker and Bobby Portis from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Otto Porter Jr. ahead of February's trade deadline.

Chicago signed Parker to an unusual two-year, $40-million deal with a team option for the second year to avoid the risk of overpaying the former No. 2 overall pick due to his injury history.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a boost in production after the trade, averaging 15 points and 7.2 rebounds in 25 games with Washington.
