Report: Thunder's Patterson exercises $5.7M option for 2019-20

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Patrick Patterson has opted in to the final year of his contract for $5.7 million, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Patterson signed a three-year, $16.4-million deal in 2017. He's averaged just 15 minutes per contest with the Thunder, during which he's shot 36.4 percent from the 3-point line. In 861 total minutes with Patterson on the floor this season, the Thunder were outscored by 5.9 points per 100 possessions.

The 30-year-old's playing time was limited in recent months, as he appeared in only six games after Feb. 14 with a high of 5:22 of playing time in that span. He didn't play during the Thunder's first-round series against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Overall, the Kentucky product has averaged 6.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists while shooting 36.7 percent from 3-point territory since being drafted No. 14 overall in 2010.
