Orlando Magic assistant coach Steve Hetzel interviewed for the Cleveland Cavaliers' head coaching job Saturday, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Hetzel has been on Steve Clifford's staff for the last five years, initially with the Charlotte Hornets before joining the Magic this past season. He also served as the head coach of the Canton Charge - the Cavaliers' G League affiliate - in 2013-14, and as the Cavaliers' video coordinator from 2006 to 2009.

The Cavaliers have been without a permanent head coach since dismissing Tyronn Lue six games into the 2018-19 campaign. The team opted to move on from interim head coach Larry Drew last month.

Cleveland general manager Koby Altman and his front office also met with Denver Nuggets assistants Jordi Fernandez and Wes Unseld Jr., and Portland Trail Blazers assistant David Vanterpool on Saturday, Wojnarowski added.
