Despite initial reports suggesting DeMarcus Cousins would miss the remainder of the playoffs, the Golden State Warriors center appears poised to return for the Western Conference finals, sources told The New York Times' Marc Stein.

Cousins suffered a torn left quadriceps while chasing down a loose ball during Game 2 of the Warriors' first-round series.

In 30 regular-season appearances, the big man averaged 16.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.5 blocks, and 1.3 steals per game.

But the four-time All-Star amassed 11 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, one steal, and six turnovers in just 25 playoff minutes before sustaining the injury.

The Warriors await the winner of the other Western Conference series between the Denver Nuggets and Portland Trail Blazers after finishing off their semifinal matchup against the Houston Rockets on Friday night. Game 7 of that series is set for Sunday.
