Murray calls Game 5 win vs. Spurs 'glimpse' of Nuggets' potential
The Denver Nuggets recovered from an early series deficit to go up 3-2 against the San Antonio Spurs with a 108-90 Game 5 win on Tuesday behind the play of their young core.
Jamal Murray has been the catalyst to the Nuggets' success thus far, averaging a team-high 23.7 points in three playoff wins. The point guard believes the latest game in Denver's turnaround against the veteran-laden Spurs is merely a preview of the team's potential.
"Just a glimpse of knowing what we can do," Murray said, according to ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk. "We're having a lot of fun right now. Learning through mistakes, ups and downs, there's been injuries all season and all that but playoff experience or not, we are having a lot of fun and we're getting the job done."
The Canadian star struggled to start the series, connecting on just eight of his 31 shots in the first seven quarters before exploding for 21 points in the final frame of the Nuggets' Game 2 victory.
Denver has an opportunity to win its first playoff series since 2009 on Thursday.
