Utah Jazz guard Dante Exum was ruled out indefinitely on Friday after an MRI revealed a partially torn patellar tendon in his right knee.

The 23-year-old Aussie exited Thursday's 120-100 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves with the injury. It was just his third appearance since returning from a 25-game absence due to a sprained left ankle.

Major injuries have become a common occurrence for Exum. He missed the entire 2015-16 campaign as a result of a torn ACL in his left knee and suited up for just 14 games in 2017-18 after undergoing surgery on his left shoulder.

The former fifth overall pick has averaged 6.9 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists on 41.9 percent shooting this season for the 39-29 Jazz, who currently sit sixth in the Western Conference.
