The NBA has rescinded the technical foul that Golden State Warriors center DeMarcus Cousins received in Monday's win over the Charlotte Hornets, according to the Bay Area News Group's Mark Medina.

Cousins was T'd up in the fourth quarter after throwing a shoe lost by Hornets guard Jeremy Lamb onto the sideline.

Cousins remained indignant about the foul postgame, insisting he removed the wayward shoe for safety reasons.

"Next time I'll just step on the shoe and roll my ankle, break it, tear an Achilles," said Cousins, who just returned from a one-year layoff due to a ruptured Achilles. "Just leave it out there next time. I guess that's what they want."

Cousins would avoid a $3,000 fine with the rescinding of his sixth technical foul on the campaign. Players are automatically suspended for one game once they reach 16 techs in one season. Cousins has amassed 123 technicals since entering the league in 2010 and has served the one-game suspension three times.
