DeMarcus Cousins is making progress in his rehab from a major left Achilles injury, yet a return doesn't seem to be in the cards any time soon for the four-time All-Star.

"We're not right there. It's still going to be some time," Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said on Monday, according to the Mercury News' Mark Medina. "We're going to be patient and continue to give DeMarcus the space he needs to prepare.

"When the time is right, we'll have some things planned for him."

The defending two-time NBA champions are taking a cautious approach with Cousins, who completed his third full-contact, full-court practice with the G-League's Santa Cruz Warriors on Monday. With Golden State never having full scrimmages, it made sense to send Boogie down.

"It was good for him to go down there. It’s good live action," Kerr added. "Much better than what we can do for him here."

Cousins last took the floor on Jan. 26 as a member of the New Orleans Pelicans and was reportedly hopeful he'd be cleared to play sometime after Christmas. He inked a one-year, $5.4-million contract over the summer with the Warriors, who've made it clear that he won't be returning beyond his current deal.
