LaVar: I'd have beaten LeBron 1-on-1 'back in my heyday'

If you thought LaVar Ball was just going to cede the L.A. spotlight to LeBron James, you were sorely mistaken.

Forget whether LeBron is the best player ever to don the purple and gold; the Ball family patriarch would have you believe he's not even the best player currently plying his trade in Los Angeles.

"Me and LeBron one-on-one, he too weak," Ball told Fanatics View in a recent interview. "Back in my heyday, can't nobody hold me. 270, benching 500? All I gotta do is back you in, I'll lift all of 'em up off they feet.

"My will to win was too hard. One-on-one I bet on myself all day."

Ball played one season of Division I college basketball at Washington State, where he averaged 2.2 points and 2.3 rebounds per game in the 1987-88 season.

Ball has also claimed last year that he'd "kill" Michael Jordan one-on-one in his prime.
