The NBA announced Wednesday it has suspended the Houston Rockets' Trevor Ariza and Gerald Green two games each for entering the Los Angeles Clippers locker room to confront an opposing player following Monday's loss.

Chris Paul and James Harden won't be penalized for their roles in the incident. It was initially reported the two led the Rockets quartet through a secret tunnel at Staples Center, which Paul was privy to after spending the last six years in L.A.

However, the NBA's Kiki Vandeweghe confirmed multiple reports that Paul and Harden instead acted as peacemakers, following interviews with 20 witnesses.

Ariza was believed to be the main instigator of the potentially dangerous siege - with the goal of confronting Austin Rivers and Blake Griffin - though he denied that. Rivers talked things out with Ariza after the fracas, but there was no resolution between him and his former teammate Paul, according to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

Griffin, who was ejected near the end of the 113-102 victory for a heated exchange with Ariza, wasn't disciplined. He also made contact with Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni on the sidelines, but Vandeweghe deemed it "very minimal."

Ariza and Green will serve their suspensions Thursday against Minnesota and Saturday versus Golden State.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski was first to report the story.
