A team composed of top U.S. G League players will play an exhibition game against the Mexican men's national basketball team during All-Star weekend in Los Angeles, the NBA announced Saturday.

The contest in February will replace this year's G League All-Star Game, which had been played during NBA All-Star festivities since 2007. The league made the announcement prior to the Miami Heat-Brooklyn Nets contest in Mexico City.

The news comes as the NBA considers placing a G League squad in Mexico.
