J.R. Smith was cited for reckless driving and excessive speeding in Bay Village, Ohio, earlier this month, according to Cleveland.com's Adam Ferrise.

Through his lawyer, the Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard pleaded not guilty Friday to a charge of willful or wanton disregard of safety, and waived his initial court appearance.

The traffic ticket indicates Smith, 32, was stopped for speeding in his Dodge Avenger at 1:20 a.m. on Oct. 12, where he took field sobriety tests.

A pretrial hearing date has yet to be set.

Smith's averaging 6.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists off the bench for the 2-1 Cavs.
