Move aside, Jumpman, because Americans are enamored with another sneaker company now.

With Nike still on top of the shoe world by a wide margin, Adidas has now passed the Jordan brand as the second-most popular sneaker in the United States, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell.

Adidas owned 11.3 percent of the market share in the country from January through August of this year, which is a significant jump from the 6.6 percent it had over the same stretch one year prior.

"I've never seen a brand in the sneaker industry grow this fast," said NPD sports industry analyst Matt Powell.

Jordan brand rose ever so slightly from 9.4 to 9.5 percent. Nike, on the other hand, continues its dominance at 37 percent, although that is a slight dip from its previous 39 percent.

In fact, Adidas' shares have jumped 31.3 percent over the last year. In comparison, Nike's are down three percent.

James Harden, Joel Embiid, Andrew Wiggins, Damian Lillard, and Brandon Ingram are just some of NBA's top players associated with Adidas.
