Former No. 1 pick Bennett: Ultimately I'll 'have the last laugh'

Anthony Bennett struggled to live up to expectations during his four seasons in the NBA, but his historically poor play did little to shake his confidence.

While Bennett realizes that his career has long been the subject of ridicule, he remains optimistic he'll be able to turn things around in the future.

"I feel I have the last laugh," Bennett told international reporter David Pick prior to Fenerbahce's Euroleague title win. "I just turned 24 years old, lot of time left."

Although Bennett technically added to his list of career accomplishments with Sunday's victory over Olympiakos in the Euroleague championship, the 6-foot-8 forward contributed little to his team's success, averaging 0.6 points and 0.9 rebounds in 10 contests.

While another NBA team could still decide to take a chance on Bennett next season, the UNLV product has done little to prove his worth in the league, averaging 4.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 0.5 assists over 151 career games.
