The Orlando Magic have agreed to a deal with Toronto Raptors general manager Jeff Weltman to make him their new president of basketball operations, sources told The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Weltman has been with the Raptors since 2013, coming aboard soon after Masai Ujiri. He was promoted to general manager last September, reporting to team president Ujiri. Weltman has previously had front office roles with the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets.
The Magic were in the market for a new basketball operations manager after firing GM Rob Hennigan in April. Multiple reports had also indicated the team was aggressively courting David Griffin of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
