A former crew member for JP Motorsports was arrested Friday morning after he allegedly broke a team owner's jaw during an altercation at Dover International Speedway in Delaware.

Dover police said Lawrence Hayden, 33, got into an argument with JP Motorsports co-owner Jerry Hattaway over his employment with the team, according to Brittany Horn of the News Journal. Hayden punched Hattaway repeatedly during the exchange, according to police, breaking his jaw.

Hattaway was initially treated for his injuries at the track's Fan Care Center before being transported to a local hospital.

Hayden was charged with one count of second-degree assault and released on a $500 bond. He has also been suspended indefinitely by NASCAR.
