Masvidal says he's 'definitely coming back' to UFC

Despite his deep dive into the boxing world, Jorge Masvidal is still planning on returning to MMA.

"I'm definitely coming back to the UFC and getting a W for my city, for my family, my kids, and everybody that believes in me," Masvidal told MMA Junkie's Danny Segura. "I have to go back to the UFC."

The former BMF champion and longtime UFC welterweight contender retired from MMA in April 2023 after suffering his fourth consecutive loss in a unanimous decision defeat to Gilbert Burns at UFC 287. Masvidal - who'll box ex-UFC star Nate Diaz on June 1 - announced months later that he planned to return for a 2024 boxing matchup while still under contract with the UFC.

"I definitely had to come back to fighting," Masvidal recently said. "I couldn't go out on an L, especially for this city. I have to get several Ws before I can hang it up, and that's never been more clear in my mind."

In addition to squaring off against Diaz, Masvidal said he plans to box other big names before stepping into the Octagon again.

"I wouldn't mind taking on Logan Paul and rearranging his face," Masvidal told Segura. "He's a hell of a fighter in boxing for being an influencer. He did some good things against (Floyd) Mayweather, but I think I can end that dude. I think I can fight Logan, get my hands on Mayweather, (Manny) Pacquiao down the road. There are other guys I want to fight."
