Holloway: McGregor rematch 'hugest' fight available after UFC 300

Former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway wouldn't say no to a rematch with Conor McGregor.

Following his thrilling, BMF title-winning knockout of Justin Gaethje at UFC 300 last weekend in Las Vegas, Holloway set his sights on a featherweight title shot against Ilia Topuria. But when asked earlier this week whom he wants to face more than anyone else, the Hawaiian selected McGregor as his top choice.

"It'd be hard not to say - with him finally getting announced that he's actually fighting - Conor 2, run it back," Holloway told Rob DeMello of KHON2 News. "That's the hugest fight, I think."

McGregor's long-awaited return against Michael Chandler was finally made official last weekend. That fight will headline UFC 303 on June 29 and take place in the welterweight division.

McGregor defeated Holloway by unanimous decision in a 2013 bout that predated both of their ascensions as UFC champions and pound-for-pound greats.

Though Holloway dreams of squaring off with McGregor again, the 32-year-old said he suspects his next fight will indeed come against Topuria for 145-pound gold.

"Legacy, ideal-wise, trying to get back to an undisputed title, gotta go with Topuria," Holloway said. "He beat the man (Alexander Volkanovski) that I couldn't figure out. But we'll see. ... It's looking like it's gonna be him next."
