Dana White promises $300K bonuses at UFC 300

Significantly more cash than usual will be up for grabs at UFC 300.

UFC CEO Dana White announced Thursday that postfight bonuses will be raised to $300,000 from $50,000 for Saturday's landmark event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

A reporter asked White at the prefight press conference if the promotion was willing to increase the bonuses, and a few fighters on stage began yelling out various amounts ranging from $100,000 to $300,000 as a form of peer pressure. White replied, "300, it's done," and the entire building - both fighters and fans - erupted into cheers and applause.

Former featherweight champion Max Holloway, who faces Justin Gaethje in a highly anticipated BMF title bout on the UFC 300 main card, wrote earlier Thursday on X that he wanted to see "some big bonuses" given out at the event.

White raised the bonuses to $100,000 for UFC 100 in 2009 but didn't do so for UFC 200 in 2016.

UFC 300 is shaping up to be one of the biggest cards in promotion history, with a light heavyweight title fight between champion Alex Pereira and former champ Jamahal Hill serving as the main event.

Former lightweight titleholder Charles Oliveira, who owns the UFC record for most postfight bonuses (19), is also scheduled to compete against Arman Tsarukyan.

In addition to the bonus news, White announced that the canvas at UFC 300 will be blue and that UFC Hall of Famer Mark Coleman will wrap the BMF belt around the Gaethje-Holloway winner.
