Deiveson Figueiredo and interim champion Brandon Moreno will face off for the flyweight title at UFC 283, Figueiredo announced Monday, marking the fourth fight between the two rivals.

UFC 283 will take place on Jan. 21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The promotion originally targeted UFC 277 in July for the bout, but Figueiredo wasn't able to fight that month due to a thumb injury. Moreno ended up defeating Kai Kara-France via TKO to claim the interim flyweight title.

Figueiredo said after Moreno's victory against Kara-France that he wanted to fight him again in front of his home crowd in Brazil. Figueiredo and Moreno are 1-1-1 in their head-to-head series.

The pair have built quite the rivalry since their first bout in December 2020. The two competitors fought to a majority draw that year when Moreno challenged Figueiredo for the belt. The Mexican star then defeated Figueiredo by submission in a rematch, but the Brazilian fighter got his revenge in their third meeting last January.

It'll be the first time in UFC history that two fighters face off four times, according to MMA Junkie's Mike Bohn. Figueiredo will also become the first in its history to face the same opponent in four straight matchups.

It's not yet known whether Figueiredo vs. Moreno will be the main event of UFC 283 as the promotion is weighing several other top options, according to ESPN's Marc Raimondi.
