In an exciting battle of lightweight up-and-comers, Mateusz Gamrot emerged victorious against Arman Tsarukyan.

Gamrot defeated Tsarukyan via unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, 48-47) in the UFC Fight Night main event Saturday in Las Vegas.

The fight was extremely competitive for all 25 minutes. Tsarukyan took an early lead, but a push from Gamrot in the final three rounds earned him the victory.

This was the first headlining opportunity for both Gamrot and Tsarukyan, who sit just outside the top 10 but are widely viewed as future title contenders. The main event featured back-and-forth striking exchanges and impressive scrambles on the mat.

Tsarukyan appeared to do more damage on his feet, mixing up punches and kicks to score points. Meanwhile, Gamrot excelled in the grappling department, gaining dominant positions but failing to register much damage or submission opportunities.

Tsarukyan briefly dropped Gamrot with a spinning back fist in the fourth round, but the latter quickly recovered and continued to fight.

With the victory, Gamrot has now won four in a row and holds a 4-1 UFC record.

Tsarukyan saw his five-fight winning streak end and suffered his first loss since facing Islam Makhachev in his UFC debut in 2019.
