The heavyweight fight between Greg Hardy and Serghei Spivac has been moved to UFC 272 on March 5, the promotion announced Tuesday.

The bout was scheduled for UFC 270 on Jan. 22, but Hardy recently announced he couldn't fight on that date due to a finger injury.

"Putting on a show on the biggest card of the year was my 2022 dream, and now I gotta wait," Hardy wrote Friday on Instagram. "I shall return soon. Hopefully in a couple (of) weeks."

The UFC initially booked Hardy to fight Aleksei Oleinik, who withdrew from the bout last week for undisclosed reasons. Spivac then agreed to step in to face Hardy on short notice.

Hardy, 33, is currently on a two-fight skid, with his latest defeat coming against Tai Tuivasa in July. The former NFL player is 4-4 (1 NC) since debuting in the UFC in 2019.

The 26-year-old Spivac saw his three-fight winning streak end versus Tom Aspinall in September.
