Heavyweight contenders Derrick Lewis and Chris Daukaus will square off Dec. 18 at UFC Fight Night, promotion president Dana White told ESPN's Brett Okamoto.

The bout will headline the card, White said.

Lewis, 36, is coming off a TKO loss to Ciryl Gane at UFC 265 in an interim championship match. "The Black Beast" owned a four-fight win streak before losing to Gane.

Daukaus, 32, defeated Shamil Abdurakhimov by TKO at UFC 266 on Saturday, earning a Performance of the Night bonus for his efforts. The native of Pennsylvania has won his last five bouts and claimed three consecutive bonuses for Performance of the Night.

Lewis and Daukaus are the No. 3 and No. 10 heavyweight contenders, respectively.

The Dec. 18 card is tentatively scheduled to be the final UFC event of 2021.
