The UFC is working on booking a pivotal featherweight bout between Brian Ortega and Chan Sung Jung, Dana White told ESPN's Phil Murphy on Wednesday.

The winner will receive a title shot against either current champion Alexander Volkanovski or Max Holloway, who are expected to have their rematch later this year, the UFC president added.

White did not reveal a date or location for the targeted Ortega-Jung fight.

"You know how I just went out and said for the Ferguson fight against Gaethje, I said, 'I absolutely, positively guarantee you that this fight will be great.' That's the same thing with Brian Ortega versus 'The Korean Zombie,'" White said. "There's no way that that fight is boring."

Ortega and Jung were initially scheduled to fight at UFC Busan last December, but the former suffered an ACL tear and was forced off the card.

Jung instead met former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and stopped him in the first round of the UFC Busan main event. "The Korean Zombie" has won two straight and is currently ranked No. 4 in the division.

Ortega hasn't stepped into the Octagon since he fell to then-champion Holloway at UFC 231 in December 2018. That was the first loss of Ortega's professional career. The No. 2-ranked featherweight holds notable wins over Edgar, Cub Swanson, and Renato Moicano.
