Nunes, Cormier highlight World MMA Awards winners
UFC champions headlined the World MMA Awards on Wednesday.
Women's bantamweight and featherweight titleholder Amanda Nunes captured three awards on the night: Female Fighter of the Year, Knockout of the Year, and Upset of the Year - the latter two for her victory over Cris Cyborg at UFC 232.
Unsurprisingly, Daniel Cormier was named Fighter of the Year. Cormier won three bouts in 2018, capturing the UFC heavyweight championship by knocking out Stipe Miocic at UFC 226. He was also named Analyst of the Year.
Rounding out the top honors, interim middleweight champion Israel Adesanya picked up the Breakthrough Fighter of the Year award and Tony Ferguson vs. Anthony Pettis (UFC 229) was named Fight of the Year.
