Joanna Jedrzejczyk has a new title in her sights.

The former women's strawweight champion will move to another division in order to challenge Valentina Shevchenko for the vacant women's flyweight title at UFC 231 in Toronto, Ontario on Dec. 8.

Shevchenko was scheduled to face Nicco Montano for the belt at UFC 228 on Sept. 8, but Montano was hospitalized the day before the fight. As a result, the title was stripped from Montano and Shevchenko was promised a title bout.

Jedrzejczyk held the strawweight belt from March 2015 to November 2017. She dropped the belt Rose Namajunas and lost the title rematch. With a trilogy bout out of the cards for the time being, the Polish striker defeated Tecia Torres in July and turned her attention to the flyweight division.
